The Journey

A series of illustrations depicting a journey two astronauts take through an alien planet. The work is illustrating a song by David Bowie, called “Moonage daydream”. I have a particular fondness for space and this expansive topic is covered quite often in his music. The illustrations cover moments described in the song’s lyrics, but their greater journey was of my own interpretation.

The astronauts travel through forests and rocky deserts seeing interesting animals and scenery, though often reality seems distorted by various neon lines. By the end of their journey one of the astronauts seems to lose their mind and turn on their partner, however it is revealed that they were alone in the first place, on an empty and distant moon.
