Jekyll & Hyde

A project involving the creation and animation of a character inspired by the Jekyll and Hyde story, as well as writing a short screenplay with said character. The character creation process is documented in the character bible below.

The most important theme when creating the character was duality. This character is an android, who wants to be human, but achieves that humanity in a very inhumane way. She harvests peoples body parts to create a mask of human skin, to wear and blend in with human society, albeit unsuccessfully, because her mask is not very convincing. The screenplay describes the androids short encounter with a detective and her unfortunate end.

The animations are meant to show off this character. The turnaround is meant to solidify the body structure, the walk – to show the specific ways this character moves, and the transformation to show the difference between its two forms.
